Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web- based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/ completion of product documentation and document sets.As a member of the technical writing division, you will design, create and deliver whole product documentation sets and/ or related courseware. Edit, organize and direct the work activities of other technical writers and staff. Plan the format, arrange the layout of publications and edit work for conformance to publication standards and specifications.Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience

We are looking for an experienced technical writer join our team. You will produce documentation for our Oracle Data Integration products . On our team, writers are assigned to a primary product, but assignments can shift based on release priorities. Our documentation team members work independently, practicing self- discipline and excellent time- management skills. Our department and product teams are highly geographically distributed. A strong sense of autonomy, flexibility, and excellent communication skills are essential to successfully working in our environment. We provide the opportunity for continuous learning and the acquiring of new skills. We work intensively in an Agile development environment with fellow writers, product managers, developers, and quality assurance and support engineers. Our writers focus not only on writing excellent content, but also on the technical aspects of publishing the documentation to our customers. Typical Duties Run the product software and understand how to use it Estimate and schedule work Track work tasks using JIRA Work with use case teams to understand how our customers use the product Write instructions and tutorials for sample applications Write online help and content topics using DITA editing tools Build the software product and validate changes Edit Javadoc comments in Java source code Write and/ or document Java code examples Update information across multiple release lines (maintenance) Requirements Candidates must meet all or most of the following requirements: 3 to 5 years technical writing experience in the IT domain B.S. or M.S. degree in Technical Communication or Software Engineering Familiarity with Java, REST, middleware, or security technologies Experience with programming and administration tools Proven experience (including writing samples) documenting complex technical subject matter Excellent verbal and written communication Impeccable grammar and succinct, clear prose Good research/ interviewing skills Flexibility in accommodating project demands DITA experience Agile development experience Experience with engineering tools such as wikis, source control systems, defect tracking systems, and XML tools.
