Experienced technical writer with skills in DITA
Job Description
The Senior Technical Writer will work closely with Development, Product Managers, QA teams, subject-matter experts, and the Technical Publications team to analyze documentation requirements for various audiences, including software developers and IT staff. He or she will combine excellent communication skills with extensive knowledge of current software technology and a passion for learning new and emerging technologies to design and develop deliverables to meet the requirements, and structure topics for reuse in multiple product deliverables. Deliverables may include DITA or XML topics, DITA maps, installation guides, developer guides, API references, help systems, user guides, functional specifications, tutorials, deployment guides, case studies, and examples, and may also incorporate diagrams and code samples as appropriate to illustrate targeted use cases.

Roles and Responsibilities

Working with the Documentation Manager in conjunction with subject matter experts, define and prioritize documentation requirements.
* Define appropriate documentation deliverables to meet the requirements.
* Research, write, edit, and structure assigned topics.
* Proactively explore architectural and platform issues relevant to the products, and provide technical assistance to Professional Services, Education, Support, and other technical writers.
Working Conditions May be required to work outside normal business hours to coordinate with US and UK based team members.
