The Centers primarily support projects in the areas of Business Analysis, Business Operations and Business Technology.

ZS Associates, a global leader in sales and marketing effectiveness, seeks an experienced technical writer to create and update user and API documentation for new and existing ZS Software. At ZS, you will work closely with subject matter experts such as software developers, QA analysts and Product Management, to document software products used by hundreds of companies and thousands of end users to make critical decisions and manage sales operations.

ZS’ Software Development team designs, implements, tests and supports our proprietary Javelin software solutions used by thousands of end users to make critical sales planning and compensation decisions. Whether you write distributed optimization algorithms or advanced mapping and visualization interfaces, you will make your impact on challenging business problems. ZS software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions help sales executives determine the optimal structure of their sales force, how to optimally manage customer accounts, and how to design and operationalize a sales compensation model that will motivate sales people to perform at their highest level, among many other critical issues. Hundreds of customers and tens of thousands of end users rely on our Javelin™ SaaS solutions to make critical decisions and manage operations with higher quality and efficiency.

SOFTWARE PRODUCT TECHNICAL WRITER

We seek an experienced Technical Writer to join our software development group in our Pune, India office. The Technical Writer will learn challenging technology and complex business problems, and translate that understanding into clear, simple, easy-to-understand, step-by-step instructions for our proprietary B2B software. The Technical Writer will drive projects from learning to completion with minimal supervision - learning and documenting software APIs and other technical subjects, estimating project timelines and meeting tight deadlines. At the same time, the Technical Writer develops strong relationships with subject matter experts and developers, whom you will rely on.

Responsibilities

Connect with subject matter experts and proactively manage your learning to become familiar with our software;
Develop and propose documentation plans and outlines for new projects, including operations, procedure, API, user/training guides and supporting materials; estimate project length and keep everyone on deadline;
Enhance and maintain existing documentation to deadline;
Proactively participate in project planning and scheduling;
Work with project manager and subject matter experts to implement timely and effective edits until documentation is ready for publication on time;
Suggest improvements to documentation, our style guide and processes whenever possible, eventually demonstrating ownership of the technical writing function;
Adhere to design template and company style guide while organizing and writing documentation;
Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree required in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science or other relevant field of study;
Up to 3 years’ technical writing experience, preferably documenting web-based software;
Proficiency with Adobe InDesign preferred;
Experience learning and communicating complex topics - web-based software development, APIs, etc.;
Superior written, editing and verbal communication skills;
Familiarity with web-based software development;
Outstanding organizational/time management, planning and prioritization skills;
Willingness to conduct occasional team calls outside of normal business hours (typically evening calls with subject matter experts in the US).

ZS is a global consulting firm; fluency in English is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
