TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATOR

We are looking to add a Technical Illustrator to our team in a full-time, exempt position.

The Technical Illustrator researches, creates, organizes, and publishes concise, accurate, relevant, and timely technical content needed to install, maintain, and troubleshoot products and services. Produces and manipulates computer-generated images to be incorporated in the online Knowledge Base (KB), computer based training modules, CD-based, and print mediums. Serves as the Technical Publication Department’s primary resource for system diagrams, graphs, charts, photographs, schematics, and two and three-dimensional drawings for use in technical content. Uses project management, technical, and communication skills to drive project goals and meet deadlines.

What you’ll need:

Four-year degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, Engineering, or a technical/science field and a minimum of four years of experience designing and publishing technical illustrations in a support environment, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Strong meeting facilitation skills, organizational, interpersonal, and technical skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to details, and ability to prioritize and complete multiple documentation projects simultaneously while working under fluctuating deadlines.
Must be highly proficient in standard software applications used to create documents and graphics (e.g. Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, AutoCAD, Adobe In-Design, Adobe Framemaker, etc.).
Experience using web publishing, search, and change control management applications (e.g. Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe RoboHelp, Clarify, Consona, Documentum, Jira, Oracle, Salesforce, SAS, Subversion, etc.) is preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of web architecture and languages, scripts, and relational databases (e.g. ColdFusion, CSS, DITA, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, PHP, etc.) preferred.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Technical background in video/television/high speed Internet preferred.
